Gun Game... what happened!?

I know the new IP.

I understand we have to "regrow" and get regulars again, but I have 2 major issues...

1. No !buylevel? I actually have to kill people with the nailgun again?

2. This is really what it all boils down to... THE MAPS.

WTF HAPPENED TO THE MAPS?

K, New maps are fun. That's cool. Everyone likes a new map once in a while, but did you have to replace ALL of them?

Makes sense- new server, new maps. I get it.

On the other hand, I'm sure pinch is more than capable of fixing it to have "a good map cycle". This was my favorite server, because. of. the. maps!

And I think good maps = more people join / want to play gun game in general.

So... lol, hope I didn't sound too ungreatful, but I seriously can't even play on my old favorite server- it's just not fun anymore without the map cycle and all the old regulars.

So pinch... please, for the love of weed, make a map cycle of all the kickass maps that everyone used to like... and go ahead and throw in the new maps you like or whatever- just make a kickass cycle of maps. Please don't let the old server I loved die forever!

I really wanted to hear the opinion of regular players thats not in the clan.

Well, the ftp for the old server is gone so I cant back up any of the old server files. Instead, slowly I will try to make it like the old server as possible. We ran through 120 maps the 1st day this server went up and only kept 50 of them. If you can remember the names of the old maps, post it.

If anyone that knows how to use ftp and has experience with control panel, I need help setting up the fastDL.

Well, until we get the fastDL, im pretty sure our server is gonna be slow. So, help me out guys!

yeah i agree like a couple of the new maps are good but all of the old ones are what made the server great.

"Help it grow again" !?! Ahhgg it's always dead!

The other server was around so long, and had so many regulars, it was like a never-ending fungrounds. Now, it's like- if we get 2 people on at the same time *maybe* it will start. Gahh the lag issues weren't that bad!

I can't help it grow because I'm not in THC and so I can't get on with another player to help kickstart it.

I understand that it's probably better for the future this way. It just kind of shocked me with the whole quick-switch thing, and I know hardly any of us regulars saw it coming. You don't just shut a server like that down! It would have been nice to have a couple weeks notice (on the server somewhere big and attention getting- regulars don't check the website unless they're rare like me) to help bridge the gap alittle.

Don't sweat yourself too hard or anything - I play some other gun game servers that are *almost* as good as THC was... but I had to post alittle bit of hate. I'll be checking the server every day that I play to see if it's got any activity.

So, how long did it take the first server to get so popular? I would like an estimate of how long I gotta wait till I start seeing it active a lot again..

I found out how to fix it. Took me awhile but fastdl is up and added some sounds.

wish i could help, but my kdr is around 1.0 on thc(well it was last time i checked) and never ran a server before, but not hard to learn right? heh

Sorry I haven't been around much lately, but it was good to hear the story... i dunno, seeing that this was a genuine problem with the old server and not just pinch bein a douchbag, it seems worth it to get this server back up and going.

Ooor, it could just be that im getting sick to death of other servers. Been playing on TsM a lot... fun server... a lot of small ass shitty maps... and the thing I miss the most from all servers... the people. I even was super annoyed by Zeez, but in retrospect he was fun to listen to sometimes, and at least he was putting his energy out there. And I definitely miss everyone else. These other servers.. the other people... it's just... they need to seriously smoke some weed.

I never joined THC because I didn't want to fill a member's slot when I knew I was only going to play gg. I have to go right now... but I gotta remember to apply later or at least get a bunch of you guys on my friends list. That way, I could always bug a few of you about getting the server started... generally, I'll play for 10-20 minutes with someone else on a popular map to try to get a server I like started up - in my experience, 3 people playing on the right map works like a charm.

GTG - But let's get this thing rollin again!

it's funny how i said one thing about helping out and then don't deliver. if anyone's the douchbag... anyway, just wanted to let you know that i haven't been playing a lot - and i'd say it's because of work, but i think it's actually a paradox - i dont play cs because there's no good servers.

so post your steam names (or help me out here) so i can add you guys to steam, and that way i can send you a message when im on about trying to start up the server.
